Kristina Christensen

READING

Kristina has been teaching students to read in a variety of roles for 10 years! From being a reading-aide, to small group instruction, and Special Education, Kristina has learned methods to help students succeed. She has worked with clients as young as 4 years old to adults learning English as a second language.

By genuinely caring about her students, Kristina encourages a desire to learn! She has individualized strategies she uses to help students feel comfortable. As she gets to know each student, she uses what reading technique fits their learning skills and personality best.

Alyssa Peterson

MATH

Alyssa has been a K-12 Math Tutor for 5 years, and is majoring in Math Education at BYU, (and is also fluent in Spanish). She cares about her students and goes the extra mile to understand how each child learns best.

Alyssa tutors over zoom or in person (in the Provo, UT area). She will help students with paper packets or online assignments. Her goal is to promote homework completion and genuine math comprehension. Techniques include a question- based teaching method, unique practice problems, and customized examples to guarantee students retain what they have learned!

Gwen Johnson

MATH

Gwen is currently attending Brigham Young University in Provo where she is studying Mathematics as an Applied Computational Mathematical Emphasis major with a minor in Computer Science. As the oldest of five kids in her family, Gwen has grown her love for tutoring high schoolers and elementary students in mathematics as well as serving in special needs organizations throughout her life. Gwen tutors over zoom or in person (in the Provo, UT area).

Whether it is lining in the Amazon Jungle in Brazil for 10 months, or leading humanitarian groups to the islands of Cape Verde, Africa, Gwen has always had a passion for adventure and the outdoors. Growing up in southern California, Gwen has enjoys the sun, especially playing sports like track and soccer. She loves making new friends and telling nerdy math jokes! She can not wait the create new friendships tutoring.
